Privacy Policy
Backyard CluckBook for iOS · Effective 8 September 2026
The short version
Backyard CluckBook does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal information. Everything you enter in the app stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Information we do not collect
- We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, locations, contacts, identifiers or usage analytics.
- We do not use advertising networks, analytics services or any third-party software development kits.
- The app does not connect to any server operated by us.
Data stored on your device
To do its job, the app keeps the information you enter — hens (names, breeds, notes and any photos you choose), egg counts, expenses and sales, hatches and your settings — in the app's private storage on your device. This data never leaves your device through the app. If you use Apple's device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), a copy may be included in that backup under your own Apple account and Apple's terms.
Permissions
- Notifications — optional, and only for reminders you turn on yourself: the daily egg-collection reminder, incubation milestone reminders and the egg boil timer. You can disable them at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- Photos — when you add a photo to a hen, the app uses Apple's system photo picker. Only the photo you select is copied into the app; the app has no access to the rest of your library.
Children
The app is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
Deleting your data
Open the app, go to More → Settings → Delete all data, or simply delete the app from your device. Either removes everything the app stored.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes how it handles data, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
